Here’s an interesting Op-ed article about the prospects of “mining” in the Philippines, written by  Reynard Loki, a New York-based writer, artist and environmental activist who runs the blog 13.7 Billion Years (http://www.13point7billion.org). For starters, Reynard says The Philippine mining industry is running rough-shod on indigenous people and the environment. For President Macapagal-Arroyo, it presents a great opportunity.”
