Philippine Airlines (PAL) is all set to begin its much-awaited maiden voyage to New York City today, March 15, 2015. This flight is scheduled four times a week with a stopover at Vancouver, BC. With this, PAL has now full rights to fly between Vancouver, BC and New York City, NY. And for the maiden voyage, PAL started offering its introductory roundtrip rate of $610, exclusive of taxes and surcharges. The last time PAL flew to the East Coast was in 1997.

PAL will be using its Airbus A340-300 which will seat 254 passengers (including 36 seats for business class where seats convert to flat beds.) With the added Vancouver stopover, PAL is actually increasing its Canadian operations to 11 weekly flights between Manila and British Columbia. This new offer is a great offer to Filipino-Americans living in the East Coast, about 500,000 strong. The New York flight will be PAL’S longest route.
